empresas tomavam decisões de compras, 61,54% de planejamento de vendas, 46,15%
possuíam controle de estoques, 38,45% possuíam controle de gastos e custos, 30,77%
possuíam controle de inadimplência, o mesmo percentual para decisões de administração de
fluxo de caixa e 23,08% de endividamento bancário. Todos os tipos de decisões e controles
apoiados por instrumentos financeiros apareceram no grupo de 3 empresas que tinham
gestão por caixa e competência, exceto em 2 empresas que tomavam decisões de margem de
contribuição sobre preços e 1 que tomava decisões sobre níveis de investimento. Nenhuma
empresa tomava decisões sobre operações bancárias.

ABSTRACT
Daily we can easily see, not only in Brazil but all over the world, the shut down of
enterprises, specially micro and small ones. Among the reasons for that we can find the
lack of planning and inadequate financial management, which are nowadays required by
the highly competitive market. The survival of the companies, in order to face the current
globalized market, depends on an administration based on information, aiming to
achieve a correct decision making. Within this context, it’s very important to have the
controls and the demonstratives, so that this task could be done successfully. A
traditional financial control is the Demonstrative of Results, which supplies information
for the company planning, based on the competence regime, it means, it takes in
consideration the costs related to the gross income during a month period of business,
and not necessarily the paid ones. The small companies management has its own
characteristics, which requires a decision making process that follows the outside and
inside changes of the organization, demanding the decision maker to focus more on
technique, rather than on intuition. In order to facilitate this constant adequation process
to the market and looking for excellence in business administration, financial
development measurement is needed, using financial and non-financial, traditional or
non-traditional indicators that would provide safe information. The present study had the
purpose to verify the usage of the Demonstrative of Results for decision making in small
commercial house and automobile ink enterprises of Londrina. Among the 29
companies, 16 were interviewed through a pre-tested form and as a result we identified
that only 18.75% of them had and utilized that financial measurement in the decision
making process, considering that all of those indebted firms had positive decisions and
occurrences on investments. Related to other financial instruments used for decision
making, 87.50% of the interviewed firms utilized the Control of Payments, with the same
percentage for the Control of Receipts. The Stock Control appeared in 56.25% of the
cases. Relating to the decisions and controls supported by financial instruments for
